Flims Highlights

Flims sits on a sheltered, sunny plateau in the Graubünden region, above the Rhine gorge – often referred to as the Swiss Grand Canyon. The resort has been a well-guarded secret among Swiss visitors, but is slowly being discovered for the hidden gem that it is, with stunning scenery and an endless list of activities to enjoy
There are two parts to Flims – Flims-Dorf is the older, original village with most amenities and the base station for the lifts and cable cars, while Flims-Waldhaus is a newer centre on a slightly higher elevation 1km south, where you’ll find most hotels, set amid beech and larch woods.
In summer, the hiking network is extensive. Enjoy countless panoramic views across the Graubünden mountainscape and discover beautiful lakes hidden in middle of the forest. Attractive bars and cafés offer plenty of opportunity to top up energy levels and sample the unique Graubünden cuisine.

Flims Activities
Walking and hiking
250km of marked footpaths means there’s plenty of choice for walkers of all levels. Choose from easy, intermediate and difficult routes. You can also follow one of the many themed trails. Learn about indigenous flora and fauna on the Nature Trail or explore Parc la Mutta’s Bronze Age megaliths.
Mountain biking
In addition to 330km of mountain bike trails, there’s a designated free-riding field with three separate trails and 200km of ‘Flyer’ electric bike trails. You can take your bike on the Flims-Foppa-Naraus cable car, as well as the Laax-Nagens shuttle bus. Bikes can be hired locally.
Rhine Gorge white water rafting
The Rhine Gorge provides the perfect setting for white water rafting. Up to nine people will board a raft along with an experienced guide who will help navigate you through the rapids. On quieter stretches you’ll have time to absorb the unusual rock formations of the gorge’s walls.
