The North Pennines and Northumberland Coast have been designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and can be explored on foot, by bike or horse.A vast majority of the remaining sections of Hadrian’s Wall, a world heritage site, are in Northumberland. The cycleway and walking route trace the wall from coast to coast.
