Rossall Beach Views - an Autumn coastline in North West England.
Rossall Beach is a short distance north from the town "Thornton-Cleveleys" which is some 7 miles north of the internationally famous tourist sea-side resort of Blackpool. Rossall Beach is dominated by Rossall School...who say about themselves: " Rossall is one of the UK's top co-educational boarding and day schools located on the picturesque coastland of North West England in Fleetwood, Lancashire. Providing a unique educational experience we offer a wide ranging choice of curriculums underpinned by a commitment to academic excellence. We have been producing successful, well rounded young people since 1844. " The heritage of Rossall is reflected in the area by the residents and its general ambience. These views were taken mid-afternoon on Wednesday 27th October 2010. The beach is a stone's throw from my UK home. The area is nicknamed "Windy Rossall" because even on a summer's day we may have high winds. You can hear them on this recording. The strong winds are attributed to the reason residents of Rossall, with its bracing sea air, generally live to a ripe old age.
